On 25 March 2024, a delegation of Population Europe, led by the CEO, Dr Andreas Edel, and including two other members of the QuantMig community, Professors Helga de Valk and Jakub Bijak, has met in Brussels with the Vice-President of the European Commission and the Commissioner for Democracy and Demography, Ms Dubravka Šuica, and members of her Cabinet.
The discussions focused on the demographic future of Europe, and the possible policy responses to a range of population-related challenges, including migration, but also population ageing and other aspects of demographic change.
